About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Tax Accountant to join their distributed finance team. This role is integral to ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and optimizing the company's tax strategy across various jurisdictions. You will work autonomously, collaborating virtually with internal stakeholders and external advisors to manage all aspects of corporate taxation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a deep understanding of tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage complex tax matters from a remote setting, contributing to sound financial governance.

• Prepare and file all corporate tax returns accurately and on time.
• Conduct tax research and provide guidance on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise on necessary adjustments to company policies.
• Manage tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities effectively.
• Identify opportunities for tax planning and risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with legal and finance departments on tax-related matters.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• Qualified as a Tax Practitioner or equivalent professional certification is essential.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate tax, with a strong understanding of South African tax law.
