This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to gain broad exposure across multiple client accounts, working closely with experienced Finance Managers while supporting fast-growing eCommerce businesses with their financial operations and reporting. About the Job Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will provide hands-on finance support across a portfolio of clients. The role will focus on maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial information while also providing exposure to management accounts, cash flow reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and process improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

Complete daily, weekly and monthly bookkeeping activities for designated clients. Maintain accurate, reconciled and up-to-date financial records. Reconcile bank, payment gateway and merchant accounts, including Shopify, Stripe, Pay Pal, Klarna and Amazon. Review client finance processes and identify opportunities to improve controls, processes and automation. Support the preparation and delivery of management accounts packs, including commentary where appropriate. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly cash flow reports.

Support budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling activities. Assist with ad hoc financial analysis relating to pricing, costs and margins. Communicate proactively with clients and provide clear updates on financial matters. Contribute to automation and efficiency improvements using cloud-based finance technology. Ensure client invoicing is accurate and completed on time. Support credit control activities and help maintain strong working capital positions.

Ensure financial processes and documentation are standardised and clearly documented. Respond to internal finance team requests in a timely and professional manner. Contribute ideas for continuous improvement across the business. Represent the company's values and maintain a professional approach when dealing with clients and colleagues. Previous experience Essential:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a hands-on finance or accounts role, including bookkeeping, AP/AR or reconciliations. Part-qualified accountant with AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to financial processes. Experience using cloud-based finance systems such as Xero, Dext, A2X, Shopify or Stripe. Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and formulas. Good understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly. Proactive approach with a willingness to improve processes and learn new systems. Comfortable working effectively within a fully remote, fast-paced environment. Desirable:

Experience with in eCommerce, retail, marketplace or wholesale businesses. Knowledge of accounting standards relevant to SMEs. Experience working within scale-up or multi-entity businesses. Previous exposure to financial modelling and budgeting. Experience supporting multiple clients or finance functions. Why Join?
