About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Banking & Finance Lawyer to join their respected legal team in East London . This role focuses on advising financial institutions and corporate clients on a broad spectrum of banking and finance transactions, including syndicated loans, project finance, corporate debt, and regulatory matters. You will play a key role in structuring, documenting, and negotiating complex financial deals.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance lawyer to enhance their expertise and contribute to significant transactions within the Eastern Cape 's growing economy.

Key Responsibilities

Advise financial institutions and corporate borrowers on various finance transactions.
Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, and related finance documents.
Conduct legal due diligence for financing arrangements.
Advise on regulatory compliance within the banking and financial services sector.
Structure complex debt financing solutions for corporate clients.
Liaise with clients, financial institutions, and other advisors throughout the transaction process.

Requirements

Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in banking and finance law.
Proven track record in advising on syndicated loans, corporate finance, and structured finance.
Strong understanding of South African banking regulations and financial markets.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage complex transactions and deliver commercially pragmatic advice.
Experience in project finance is a significant advantage.
