Finance Manager

Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home | 9.00am–5.30pm

Wade Mac Donald are recruiting a Finance Manager to join a growing FMCG organisation based in Newbury.

This is a hands-on Finance Manager opportunity within an SME environment, offering considerably more than ownership of the monthly numbers. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will lead a small finance team, improve reporting and controls, and have the autonomy to identify better ways of working and put those ideas into practice.

It will particularly suit someone who enjoys the pace and variety of an SME, where you can see the impact of your work and have a genuine voice in how the finance function develops.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function and the delivery of accurate, useful management information.

Technology and reporting will be an important part of the position. You will need to be a confident Power BI user with the ability to create, maintain and develop dashboards and reporting
, rather than simply working with existing outputs.

• Managing the monthly reporting cycle and delivering accurate management information within agreed timescales.
• Producing insightful reporting for senior stakeholders and providing clear analysis of performance and variances.
• Taking an active role in developing Power BI dashboards
  , improving how financial and operational information is presented and used across the organisation.
• Leading budgeting and forecasting and working directly with budget holders.
• Managing cash flow forecasting and providing visibility over working capital.
• Maintaining strong balance sheet controls, reconciliations and financial processes.
• Providing financial insight around stock, margins and product profitability.
• Supporting year-end requirements and liaising with external accounting support.
• Overseeing payroll, banking and payment processes.
• Managing and developing two members of the finance team.
• Reviewing existing ways of working and confidently recommending and implementing improvements.
• Supporting the Finance Director with commercial projects and wider business priorities.

You will be a qualified or strong part-qualified accountant with experience in an SME and FMCG, manufacturing, consumer goods or another product-led environment. Strong Power BI capability, including building and maintaining dashboards, is important, alongside advanced Excel
, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and ideally macros.
Sage 200 exposure and knowledge of stock control or product costing would be advantageous. You will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, people-management skills and the confidence to implement new ideas.

You will receive a salary of £40,000 – £55,000
, working 9.00am–5.30pm
, with a hybrid arrangement of three days in the Newbury office and two days working from home
.
