Accounts Receivable Clerk

About the Role

Our client in Soweto is seeking a diligent Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their finance team. This role is responsible for managing incoming payments, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, and maintaining accurate customer account records. You will play a vital role in the company's cash flow management and customer financial relationships. This hybrid role offers flexibility, combining in-office responsibilities with remote work options from the Soweto area.

• Process customer payments accurately and efficiently, including checks, EFT, and credit card payments.
• Generate and send out invoices and statements to customers.
• Monitor customer accounts for outstanding balances and initiate collection efforts.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and customer billing issues.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable principles and collection practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
