About the Role

Our client seeks a strategic and analytical Mineral Economist to join their team in Stellenbosch . This role is critical for evaluating the economic viability of mineral projects, assessing market trends, and advising on investment strategies within the global mining sector . You will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analyses, developing economic models, and providing insights that support key business decisions regarding exploration, development, and asset management.

• Perform economic evaluations and feasibility studies for new and existing mining projects.
• Analyze global commodity markets, supply and demand dynamics, and price forecasts.
• Develop financial models to assess project profitability, risk, and return on investment.

• Prepare detailed economic reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

• Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in economic analysis, preferably within the mining or commodities sector .
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and risk analysis.
• Excellent understanding of commodity markets and international finance.
• Proven ability to communicate complex economic concepts clearly and concisely.
