Tax Accountant

About the Role

Our client seeks a knowledgeable Tax Accountant to join their established finance department in Richards Bay. This role is essential for ensuring tax compliance and optimizing the company's tax position across various jurisdictions. You will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, managing tax-related inquiries, and staying abreast of changes in tax legislation. • Prepare and file all corporate tax returns (income tax, VAT, etc.) accurately and in a timely manner.
• Conduct tax research and provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant.
• Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and manage tax audits effectively.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks.
• Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate reporting of tax provisions.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; a professional tax qualification (e.g., Master's in Taxation, CTA) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience specializing in corporate tax.
• In-depth knowledge of South African tax legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience with tax preparation software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws.
