Tax Specialist

Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Specialist to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role is crucial for ensuring the company's compliance with all South African tax laws and optimizing its tax strategies. You will be responsible for tax planning, preparation of tax returns, research, and advising on tax implications of business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in corporate tax, VAT, and other relevant tax legislation, with the ability to work independently and effectively manage responsibilities from any location.

• Prepare and file all corporate tax returns accurately and within statutory deadlines.
• Provide expert advice on tax implications of business transactions, investments, and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct tax research and analysis to identify tax planning opportunities and ensure compliance with evolving tax laws.
• Manage tax audits and respond to queries from SARS and other tax authorities.
• Develop and implement tax policies and procedures to ensure efficient tax management.
• Liaise with external tax consultants and advisors as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law; a qualification such as CA(SA), CTA, or H.Dip Tax is essential.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate tax, with a strong focus on South African tax legislation.
• In-depth knowledge of Income Tax Act, VAT Act, and other relevant tax laws.
• Experience with tax software and proficient in using analytical tools.
• Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex tax information clearly.
