Compliance Officer - Banking

Our client, a forward-thinking financial services provider, is looking for a dedicated Compliance Officer to join their team, operating remotely. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing guidance to staff to mitigate risks.

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization's compliance program , ensuring adherence to all applicable financial regulations and laws.
• Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of changes in the regulatory landscape and advise the business on necessary policy updates and operational adjustments.
• Provide compliance training and guidance to employees across various departments to foster a culture of compliance.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches, prepare reports, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required, ensuring smooth communication and transparency.

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCEP, CRCM) are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in compliance, audit, or risk management within the banking or financial services industry .
• Solid understanding of South African financial regulations (e.g., FICA, POPIA, Companies Act).
• Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, suitable for a remote working environment.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
