Acumen is excited to partner with Pacific Santa Fe Partners to find their next Controller/Vice President of Finance. As a member of the Executive Team, the Controller/Vice President of Finance will take primary responsibility for the financial management, accounting oversight, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, management information, and related portfolio administration for a growing, multi-state senior living organization focused on memory care.
This position offers the opportunity to grow into Pacific Santa Fe’s senior financial leadership and future CFO role as the company expands. Position Overview
The Controller/Vice President of Finance will own the integrity, consistency, and timeliness of Pacific Santa Fe Partners’ community-level and consolidated financial information. This individual will build disciplined financial processes while helping management understand what is happening across the portfolio, why it is happening, and what action should be taken.
The successful candidate will connect financial results to operating drivers such as occupancy, pricing, labor, resident acuity, agency utilization, receivables, care charges, controllable costs, capital expenditures, and cash flow.
Key Responsibilities Accounting and Financial Reporting- Own accurate, timely monthly and year-end closes and community-level and consolidated financial reporting
- Oversee multi-community, multi-entity, and multi-state accounting, including intercompany activity, allocations, consolidations, and portfolio reporting
- Standardize accounting practices, policies, and reporting while maintaining general ledger and financial record integrity
- Coordinate with outside accountants, tax professionals, auditors, attorneys, and other advisers
- Develop concise reporting that connects financial results to operational performance
- Analyze key drivers, including occupancy, revenue, labor, receivables, controllable costs, capital expenditures, and budget variances
- Identify portfolio and community-level exceptions, determine root causes, and recommend corrective action
- Translate complex financial information into practical guidance on risks, opportunities, trends, and performance
- Build and maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast
- Oversee cash balances, liquidity, payroll, vendor obligations, debt service, and funding needs across communities and entities
- Standardize cash management practices and support capital allocation and financing decisions
