Chief Financial Officer, Single Family Office, Remote

A UK-based single family office is hiring a newly created CFO to build and professionalise the family's finance infrastructure after a major liquidity event. The role is the central financial steward across a holding structure, family investment vehicles and operating businesses — covering intercompany flows, multi-entity reporting, personal payroll/cashflow, tax/regulatory oversight with external advisers, and governance around capital movements. Flexible remote UK role with access to hubs such as London / Midlands.

Suits a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with SFO / UHNW / complex private holdco experience.

Reporting to the Principal(s) / family ownership, the CFO oversees funds flowing from a holding structure into multiple family investment vehicles and operating businesses. The mandate combines strategic oversight, hands‑on implementation and coordination of external advisers across tax, accounting and wealth management.

Key responsibilities:

- Design, implement and lead a family-office-style finance function from the ground up
- Oversee cash and asset flows between the holding entity, investment companies and operating businesses; establish controls, processes and consolidated reporting
- Structure, document and manage intercompany loans (interest calculations and reconciliations); maintain books across investment vehicles and trading companies
- Manage personal payrolls and personal cashflow; coordinate with external wealth managers on implementation of investment decisions
- Act as a "second eye" on tax and regulatory risk (including multi‑jurisdiction residency, VAT, withholding tax, CIS); challenge and implement adviser recommendations
- Develop governance and approval processes for significant capital movements; produce regular net‑worth, liquidity, performance and risk reporting for principals
- Serve as primary internal counterpart to external accountants, tax advisers, lawyers and wealth managers

Experience:

senior finance leader (CFO, Group Financial Controller, Head of Family Office) with private family office / UHNW / complex private holdco experience; multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdiction intercompany environments; consolidated reporting and tax‑aware cashflow. Qualified accountant preferred. High integrity, discretion, pragmatic hands‑on style.
