The Intern position within the IT Finance department of The Standard could include a wide range of duties and activities depending on the specific needs of the IT organization during the Internship timeline. The goal of an internship is to apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world situations, as well as gain the skills and experience that is necessary to prepare the student for a successful career in Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Support monthly close activities, including accrual preparation, financial reconciliations, and actual-to-forecast variance analysis.
- Assist with monthly forecasting processes, including forecast preparation and Apptio forecast submissions.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly financial reporting packages and management reports.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis, research, and IT financial modeling to support business decision-making.
- Review IT contracts and perform financial research to evaluate accounting and budgetary impacts.
- Contribute to process documentation and improvement initiatives while gaining exposure to executive leadership and strategic business discussions.
- During the duration of the internship the candidate will be assigned to one manager to oversee their day-to-day work, however, there may be opportunities to work with several different teams in the division.
- The work will be conducted in an all-virtual remote environment.
- Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students for the duration of the internship. Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors and students pursuing advanced degrees are welcome to apply.

- Preferred majors in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong analytical skills as demonstrated by previous work experience, and/or course of study.
- Experience working with MSOffice suite including Excel, Teams, Outlook.
- Experience in AI tools preferred.
- Interest, exposure, or experience in IT financial management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, cost allocations, operational performance analysis, and data reporting; experience with data integration and Power BI is a plus.
- Up to three days of paid time off, plus paid holidays.

Coffee with the CEO, careers workshop, etc. - Interns are provided with all necessary equipment (i.e., laptop, monitor) needed to work from home and will attend the company’s virtual First Day Orientation to gain a deeper understanding of the company.
Compensation:
Individual pay rates will be determined based upon current student status (i.e. Sophomore, Junior, Senior)
