Insurance Risk Manager

Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Insurance Risk Manager to oversee risk management functions for their operations based in Richards Bay. This senior position involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks that could impact the company's financial performance, reputation, and operational continuity. You will develop and implement robust risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures, working across departments to foster a strong risk-aware culture.

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks and strategies.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks across all business units and operational areas.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, controls, and action plans.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management initiatives and compliance status.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, scenario analyses, and stress testing of business operations.
• Advise senior management on risk appetite, emerging risks, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices for risk management.

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in risk management, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Solvency II, Basel).
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to model and assess complex risks.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills to drive risk awareness across the organization.
• Experience in developing and implementing risk policies and procedures.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CRM, FRM, or PRM are highly desirable.
