Petroleum Economist

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Petroleum Economist to join their strategic planning team, with this role being fully remote. You will be instrumental in evaluating the economic viability of exploration and production projects, developing financial models, and providing economic insights to support decision-making. This position requires a deep understanding of the Oil & Gas market dynamics, financial principles, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.

• Develop and maintain economic models for evaluating exploration, development, and production projects.
• Conduct sensitivity and risk analyses to assess project uncertainties and potential financial outcomes.
• Analyze market trends, commodity prices, and geopolitical factors impacting the energy sector.
• Prepare economic evaluations, reports, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
• Provide economic input for business development activities, mergers, and acquisitions.

• Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Petroleum Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in petroleum economics, financial analysis, or economic evaluation within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in economic modeling software (e.g., Aries, DSS) and advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts, investment appraisal techniques, and risk management.
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and communication skills, enabling effective remote collaboration.
