Senior Compliance Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Compliance Officer to lead their compliance efforts from a remote position, supporting their operations across Sandton. This role is critical for ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will develop, implement, and manage robust compliance programs, conduct risk assessments, and provide strategic guidance to senior management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks within the financial services sector (or relevant industry), exceptional analytical skills, and a proven ability to drive a culture of compliance throughout a remote workforce.

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
• Oversee the implementation of compliance training programs for all employees.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the organization's practices remain up-to-date.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory inquiries and audits.

• Relevant degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a compliance or regulatory role, preferably within a financial services context.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
• Proven experience in developing and managing compliance programs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders remotely.
