The Economist Senior conducts research and analysis on state and local tax collection and distribution, forecasts revenue for various tax types, and evaluates the financial impacts of proposed legislation. The role is located in the Arizona Department of Revenue's Support Division in Phoenix, with remote work options available, and includes responsibility for preparing statutorily required reports and serving as staff on Commission committees.
Keyqualifications:
- Minimum of four years' experience in economic, accounting, or research work
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Economics or a related field
- Working knowledge of federal and state tax laws, statutes, and regulations
- Extensive knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis techniques
- Proficiency with PC, Windows, MS Office, and Google Suite applications
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check including FBI fingerprint clearance and Arizona tax compliance verification
