Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Union, NJ, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. This role is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, guiding customers through the full loan process from prequalification to closing, and ensuring a smooth, informed experience. Day-to-day activities include consulting with borrowers to understand their financial goals, recommending appropriate loan products, collecting and analyzing financial documentation, and coordinating with underwriters, processors, and other internal teams.

The Mortgage Loan Officer will maintain accurate records, manage a pipeline of applications, and uphold all company and regulatory compliance requirements. Building strong relationships with customers, real estate professionals, and community partners is essential to meeting production goals while delivering high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar mortgage origination role, with a solid understanding of loan products and processes.
• Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices, including regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with Underwriting standards and documentation requirements, and ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams.
• Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and build long-term borrower relationships.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed production goals while maintaining high ethical standards and attention to detail.
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment, managing time and tasks across in-office and remote settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial information in accessible terms.
• Proficiency with mortgage loan origination systems, CRM tools, and standard office software.
• Relevant state licensing and registration as a Mortgage Loan Officer, or eligibility and willingness to obtain required licenses.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree in business, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
