Financial Aid Advisor - Remote

Time Commitment: 15–25 hours per week, short-term project

We are seeking experienced Financial Aid Advisors to evaluate and improve AI-generated guidance on federal student loans. You'll use your borrower counseling expertise to ensure questions reflect real borrower concerns and answers are accurate, complete, and helpful. No prior AI experience is required.

• Review student loan questions for realism and relevance.
• Develop rubrics covering federal loan repayment, income-driven repayment (IDR) plans, and forgiveness programs such as Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
• Evaluate guidance on loan servicer issues, deferment, forbearance, and default resolution.
• Assess AI-generated answers for errors, omissions, and outdated information.
• Provide clear, actionable written feedback to the project team asynchronously.

• Direct experience counseling borrowers on federal student loan repayment and forgiveness through a nonprofit, university financial aid office, or similar organization.
• At least 1 year of experience advising on IDR plans, PSLF, or other repayment and relief options.
• Experience beyond financial aid award packaging, including repayment, forgiveness, servicer issues, or default resolution.
• Working knowledge of loan servicing, deferment, forbearance, and default management.
• Based in the United States.
• Ability to start quickly and commit 15–25 hours per week.
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
