Remote Senior Compliance Officer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Compliance Officer to join their financial services team on a fully remote basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's compliance programs, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies across South Africa. You will play a key part in safeguarding the organization's reputation and financial integrity by managing risk and promoting a culture of ethical conduct.

This position requires a proactive individual with strong regulatory knowledge and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders in a remote work environment.

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's comprehensive compliance framework and policies.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable financial regulations, including AML, KYC, and data privacy laws.
• Design and deliver compliance training programs to employees across all levels of the organization.
• Investigate compliance breaches, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, respond to inquiries, and manage regulatory examinations effectively.

• Law degree or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs within the financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations, including FICA, POPIA, and relevant banking laws.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for effective remote collaboration and stakeholder management.
