Compliance Officer, Finance & Banking

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Compliance Officer to join their team in Pretoria . This hybrid role is essential for ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant financial regulations, laws, and internal policies. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs to prevent legal and reputational risks. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of financial compliance frameworks and has a proven track record of managing compliance initiatives effectively within a corporate setting, offering a blend of remote work and office presence.

• Develop and implement robust compliance policies and procedures across the organization.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to internal controls and processes.
• Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide compliance training and guidance to employees at all levels.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related role within the financial services sector.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations (e.g., FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing abilities.
• Experience with compliance management software and audit processes is advantageous.
