Remote Chief Financial Officer - Mining Operations

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their financial operations remotely, supporting their significant mining operations. This executive position is responsible for all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning, risk management, reporting, and investor relations. You will play a crucial role in shaping the company's financial strategy, driving profitability, and ensuring financial stability, working effectively with global teams from your remote base near Stellenbosch.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional leadership qualities, a deep understanding of the mining sector's financial nuances, and a proven ability to manage complex financial structures in a remote setting.

• Develop and execute the company's long-term financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
• Manage risk, including financial, operational, and strategic risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to the board of directors, investors, and regulatory bodies.
• Lead fundraising efforts and manage relationships with banks, investors, and other financial institutions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Provide strategic financial guidance and support to operational leadership across all mining sites.

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with significant experience in the mining or natural resources sector.
• Proven track record of success in financial strategy development, capital allocation, and risk management.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong understanding of international accounting standards and financial regulations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, essential for remote leadership and stakeholder management.
