Senior Financial Risk Analyst

• Monitor adherence to risk limits and regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel accords, SARB regulations).
• Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of adverse market conditions.
• Collaborate with business units to ensure risk management strategies are effectively integrated into operations.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of risk policies and procedures.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes impacting financial risk management.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts within the risk department.

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial risk management, preferably within a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proven ability in statistical modeling and data analysis.
• Proficiency in risk management software and tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python, MATLAB).
• In-depth knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and risk management principles.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to the South African banking industry.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
