Financial Analyst

Our client, a growing retail group with operations across the Western Cape, including Mossel Bay , is seeking a dynamic Financial Analyst to enhance its financial planning and analysis capabilities. This role is pivotal in providing critical insights into financial performance, supporting strategic initiatives, and driving profitability. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.

We are looking for an individual with strong analytical acumen, excellent Excel skills, and a proactive approach to identifying business trends and opportunities. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining the benefits of remote work with collaborative office-based sessions at our Mossel Bay location.

• Develop and maintain complex financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and key performance drivers.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, variance analyses, and executive summaries.
• Support departmental managers in budget preparation and financial planning.
• Conduct profitability analysis, pricing analysis, and market trend assessments.
• Assist in the evaluation of new business opportunities, investments, and capital expenditures.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and systems.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to various business units.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data used for decision-making.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros) and financial modeling techniques.
• Experience with financial reporting software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a significant advantage.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Familiarity with the retail industry is a plus.
• Must be available for hybrid work in Mossel Bay, Western Cape.
