Cardless is building the infrastructure for the world's best companies to design, build, and launch financial products. Companies like Coinbase and Bilt use Cardless to create credit cards that feel entirely their own. In an industry where branded financial products usually mean shared logos and shared control, Cardless is built to disappear. Our APIs and components shape the journey from the first application to every purchase, reward, and moment of support that follows, while we handle lending, compliance, and operations behind the scenes.
In September 2025, we raised a $60 million Series C led by Spark Capital, bringing our total funding to $170 million. The team is over 70 people and scaling toward profitability by year-end 2026.
We're looking for kind, humble people with high standards and low egos. We take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. We see what could be improved, make it so, and leave every product, system, and team better than we found it.
About the roleEvery new card, feature, fee and disclosure at Cardless gets a compliance review before it ships. We're hiring someone to make that review their main job.
Product and business teams will come to you to find out whether an idea works under Reg Z and the other consumer rules, and if it doesn't, what would. You'll also take product changes through review with the banks that issue our cards. It's a hands‑on role with no direct reports, and you'll report to our CCO.
What you'll doReview new card programs, features, fees and terms before launch, and tell the team what has to change and why.
Check disclosures, application flows and servicing flows against the rules and against what each issuing bank expects.
Work through new features where the regulation doesn't give a clear answer. Write up a recommendation someone can act on.
Get product and disclosure changes approved by our bank partners.
Set up how reviews work here: intake, checklists, sign-off, and records an examiner could follow a year later.
Keep product teams current when a rule changes.
Around 3 to 6 years in consumer compliance, regulatory advisory or legal at a bank, card issuer or fintech.
You've reviewed credit card products yourself (fees, APRs, terms, disclosures or account flows) and told the business what to do.
Strong working knowledge of Reg Z and the CARD Act. Reg E, Reg B, FCRA and UDAAP as they apply to cards.
You write clearly, and you give a recommendation, not just a list of risks.
You're comfortable owning work without a playbook.
Experience at a program manager or BaaS company, or working directly with an issuing bank.
Debit or prepaid card experience.
Marketing or advertising compliance review for credit cards. If that's your background and you want to move into product, we'd like to hear from you.
CRCM or another consumer compliance certification.
You use AI tools in your everyday work.
You need a hybrid or remote schedule. You'll work from our San Francisco office 5 days a week. If you're based in the Salt Lake City area and can meet with partners there in person, we'll also consider you working from home.
You'd rather follow an established playbook. You'll be writing this one.
Your compliance experience is mainly BSA/AML or mortgage. This seat is consumer card product work.
You're a product manager, or your compliance work is data privacy, security or tech GRC. This is a regulatory compliance role, not a product management one.
You'd review every card product we launch, across several issuing banks, and have a real say in what gets built.
You'd work directly with our CCO on a small, experienced compliance team.
