Financial Institution Manager

The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking an individual to work in public service as a Financial Institutions Managerin the Office of Credit Unions. This position is an opportunity to build a lifelong career doing work that truly matters - helping to protect consumers and maintain public confidence in Michigan’s insurance and financial services industries.

The right candidate will serve as a leader in supervising and directing credit union corporate activity and aggregate risk assessment functions related to the ongoing supervision of state-chartered credit unions and credit union service organizations as required by the Credit Union Act, PA 215 of 2003. You will be integral in research, regulatory analysis, financial analytics, and otherwise assisting in the overall operations of the Office of Credit Unions.

You will also play an important role in ensuring transparency through reporting activities.

• Strong experience working with data and datasets.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office products and Microsoft PowerBI.
• Experience working with federal National Credit Union Administration systems.
• The ability to communicate concisely and effectively orally and in writing with professionals in the industry and within DIFS. The desire to work closely with colleagues and senior leaders to solve problems.
• The ability to professionally represent the Michigan Office of Credit Unions on a local and national level, on complex credit union issues, including the ability to travel with some travel requiring overnight stay.

The Salary listed above is a range, and the final salary is determined by the selected candidate’s education and experience.

This is an in-person position based in Lansing, Michigan
, with the possibility for a hybrid work schedule where you would work from home up to three days per week, following a training period if approved.
