About Branch

About Branch Branch is on a mission to make insurance more accessible, so more people can be covered. We innovate using data, tech, and automation to simplify insurance from start to finish—we eliminated inaccurate quotes in favor of real prices, created a better way to bundle, and cut unnecessary costs in the traditional insurance process. Basically, we’re doing insurance the way it was meant to be.

But we didn’t just create the insurance we’ve always wanted, we also created the company we’ve always wanted to work for. As we redefine insurance, we also want to redefine what it means to work in insurance. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Branch is remote first, with most Branchers choosing to work from home. We also have office space in Columbia and Concordia, Missouri as well as Forreston, Illinois.

Position Overview

As a Financial Reporting Lead, you’ll play a key role in supporting the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of our insurance financial reporting processes. You will collaborate across the Finance, Compliance, Legal and Insurance teams to help ensure data is reliable, audit-ready, and aligned with industry regulations. Your work will help Branch leadership understand performance outcomes and support the continued evolution of our finance operations as we scale.

Assist in documenting and maintaining financial processes to support efficient and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities
  • - Analyze month-over-month changes in financial outcomes and provide clear reporting to enable leadership understanding, with support from actuarial and reinsurance teams.
  • - Work with the Data Office to help identify and define required controls and data availability needed for accurate financial reporting.
  • - Support the development of audit-ready documentation for key financial processes and controls.
  • - Direct the preparation and delivery of Statutory financial statements, including quarterly and annual NAIC filings, RBC analysis, and NAIC RBC forecasting tools.
  • - Develop an internal control testing framework that supports a growing audit function of the future.
  • - Support the review and documentation of cash handling processes and reconciliation procedures.
  • - Collaborate with Insurance and Compliance teams on data or regulatory requests related to state expansion or reporting needs.
  • - Contribute to special projects that help improve financial transparency, data readiness, or compliance across the organization.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; 8+ years of experience in property & casualty insurance finance or accounting, preferably with exposure to GAAP and statutory reporting.

  • - Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, controls, and insurance accounting.
  • - Proficiency in interpreting financial outcomes and turning data into actionable reporting.
  • - Above-market salary
    - Branch is a data-driven company, so we do the math on salaries, too. Pay equity and transparency
    - Our pay isn’t just market-driven, it’s equitable. We let experience and performance drive your success, never your gender, race, orientation, or beliefs.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Remote-first (with perks) - Work from where you’re most comfortable. We’ll take care of your work from home set-up and monthly internet. We also have a Columbus headquarters if you’d like to join us in an office.
  • Flexible You Time
    - We don’t just let you control your own time off. Employee stock options
    - You’re not just an employee. If you’re full-time, you’re also a part-owner. You’ll have stock options so you can invest in the company you’re helping to grow.
  • Medical, vision, dental
    - Get all the coverage you need for a healthy, happy life.
  • Branch helps you get to retirement on time with a portion of your contributions matched each month.
