Energy Trader; Remote

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Energy Trader to join their dynamic trading desk. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to operate from anywhere. You will be responsible for executing trades in various energy commodity markets, including power, natural gas, and associated derivatives, with the goal of maximizing profitability while managing risk. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of energy market dynamics, strong quantitative and analytical skills, and a proven ability to make rapid, informed decisions under pressure.

• Execute trading strategies in physical and financial energy markets, including day-ahead, balancing, and futures markets.
• Monitor market conditions, news, and price movements in real-time to identify trading opportunities and risks.
• Develop and implement sophisticated trading models and algorithms to optimize execution and profitability.
• Manage and mitigate trading risks, ensuring adherence to established risk limits and policies.
• Collaborate with risk management, operations, and commercial teams to ensure coordinated market participation.
• Analyze post-trade performance, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to strategy refinement.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy trading, commodity trading, or a related financial markets role.
• Proven track record of successful trading in volatile energy markets.
• Strong understanding of energy market fundamentals, regulatory environments, and trading platforms.
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
