I’m working with a specialist, independent advisory business that’s looking to appoint a Director to take ownership of transaction modelling delivery and play a key role in the continued development of the firm.
This is a genuinely hands‑on senior position, sitting directly underneath the Founder and taking responsibility for the day‑to‑day delivery of multiple transaction‑led modelling and advisory assignments.
The role would suit someone coming from a Financial Modelling / Transaction Modelling environment who enjoys being close to the detail, leading junior teams and taking real ownership of engagements, but who’s looking for more autonomy and less of the hierarchy that comes with a larger advisory platform.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading 1 to 3 live engagements at any one time
- Taking ownership of transaction‑led financial modelling assignments
- Building, reviewing and interrogating integrated financial models
- Managing and directing a small team of analysts
- Reviewing assumptions, calculations and model logic and challenging inconsistencies
- Managing client information requests and keeping projects moving at pace
- Working across M&A, refinancing, restructuring and wider strategic finance assignments
- Ensuring work is progressing in the right direction and to the required quality
- Providing clear, concise updates to the Founder
- Taking responsibility for engagement delivery, timelines and budgets
- Acting as the senior point of contact across day‑to‑day client delivery
The firm is particularly interested in speaking with people who have:
- A strong background in Financial Modelling / Transaction Modelling
- Experience at Senior Manager, Associate Director or Director level
- Strong experience building and reviewing integrated three‑statement models
- Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Experience modelling within an M&A, refinancing, restructuring or wider transactions environment
- The confidence to interrogate complex models and challenge junior team members
- Experience managing analysts or junior deal teams
- Experience working on fast‑moving transaction‑led assignments
- The judgement to work autonomously without relying on significant internal infrastructure
Big 4 experience would be particularly relevant, although candidates from other established transaction advisory, financial modelling or corporate finance firms will also be considered.
This won’t suit someone looking for a heavily layered environment or a role where modelling work can simply be delegated and reviewed at the end.
It will suit someone who enjoys being close to the technical detail, likes taking ownership, can create structure around junior teams and wants the opportunity to become a genuinely important part of a smaller, entrepreneurial business.
The opportunity offers:
- Fully remote working anywhere in the UK
- Flexible working hours by agreement
- 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- Discretionary bonus linked to team utilisation
- Private medical and dental insurance following probation
- Option to purchase up to 10 additional days’ annual leave through salary sacrifice
- Ability to carry forward up to 5 days’ annual leave
- Significant autonomy and direct exposure to the Founder
- The opportunity to become the senior delivery lead within a growing specialist consultancy
