Senior Compliance Officer - Financial Services

Our client, a rapidly expanding fintech company renowned for its innovative financial solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Compliance Officer to lead their compliance efforts. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere while playing a critical role in a dynamic and regulated industry. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's compliance program, ensuring adherence to all relevant financial regulations, including those pertaining to anti-money laundering (AML), know your customer (KYC), and data privacy.

• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive compliance program across all business functions.
• Interpret and advise on the application of relevant financial regulations (e.g., FAIS, FICA, POPIA) to the company's operations.
• Design and conduct compliance training programs for employees.
• Oversee and manage AML/KYC procedures and transaction monitoring.
• Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and vulnerabilities.
• Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and respond to inquiries.
• Develop and update compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
• Stay abreast of emerging regulatory trends and industry best practices.

• University degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or legal roles within the financial services sector.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations (e.g., FICA, FAIS, POPIA) and international compliance standards.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CRCM) are a significant advantage.
