Financial Compliance, Financial Analyst, Tax Advisor, Tax Manager
Our client, a growing transaction advisory practice, is hiring an experienced M&A Tax Manager for its small, collaborative transaction tax team. This is a fully remote, full-time role for a tax professional who enjoys deep-dive diligence work, spotting issues early, and turning technical findings into clear advice that moves deals forward.
The M&A Tax Manager will advise clients on the tax side of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other major transactions. Most engagements focus on federal and state tax due diligence for buy-side and sell-side deals, with some exposure to international tax. Because the team is small, the successful candidate will own their engagements, work directly with leadership, and have real room to shape the role and grow with the practice.
The role offers a competitive salary, generous bonus and a full benefits package, including a 401(k) with employer match, medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, generous PTO, tuition reimbursement, and CPA exam support. The firm invests in its people through regular feedback and ongoing training, and it has a supportive culture that celebrates both career and personal milestones.
WhatYou'll Do:
- Lead federal and state tax due diligence engagements end to end, including data room review, information requests, risk assessment, and writing concise reports and memos clients can act on
- Manage multiple engagements at once, delivering on time and on budget
- Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor
- Research complex federal and state tax issues and develop practical, tailored solutions
- Review financial models to make sure tax implications are captured accurately
- Partner with colleagues across service lines to deliver integrated transaction advice
- Mentor and develop junior team members
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- 5+ years of tax experience, with a focus on M&A or transaction advisory
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-organized reports, memos and client communications
- Experience with tax research tools and software
- Ability to prioritize issues, assess risk and make sound recommendations in a fast-paced setting, often with incomplete information
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, lead teams and communicate at every level
- Analytical, detail-oriented and client-focused, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- CPA, JD or equivalent
- Public accounting or consulting firm experience preferred
