Senior Financial Analyst

This Senior Financial Analyst position in Recovery Alberta Business Advisory Services (BAS) will support Alberta Recovery, Focusing on the Compassionate Intervention develop, implementation and ongoing finance support of program.

The successful candidate should be a self-starter, problem solver, demonstrate excellent technical skills in excel, and work well as part of a team. As you will be dealing with multiple leadership levels and different finance teams excellent communication skills is a must. This position location can be flexible as currently you will be expected to work from home, working hours are from 8:00am to 4:15pm.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to: providing advice and expertise on financial policies, systems and procedures to operational leadership, compiling financial information and reporting, analyzing data, providing financial insight into solutions and submitting financial information for financial reporting. Other duties include journal entries, ad hoc reporting, variance analysis, reconciliation, and various month end, quarter end, and annual accounting duties.

Experience with financial modeling and project costing will be an asset.

Description:

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Required Qualifications
Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).

Preferred Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in accounting or related field. Working toward or has a professional accounting/finance designation. Financial experience in a Health Care environment. Strong working knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion and Excel applications. Preference given to applicants with a CPA designation or equivalent or candidates within a year of achieving their designation or applicants who have completed a post-secondary degree specializing in Accounting/Finance or related field.
