Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance department based in Midrand . This pivotal role involves overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and contributing to strategic financial planning. • Manage and oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports in compliance with IFRS standards.
• Conduct variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain financial accuracy.
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insightful financial data and analysis to support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and statutory requirements, coordinating with external auditors as needed.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with professional qualification (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA articles) highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Quick Books, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of South African tax laws and financial reporting standards.
