Valiant Harbor International is seeking an experienced and strategic Press Officer to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Communications, Outreach, Media, Policy, Analysis, and Strategic Support (COMPASS) team. This is a full-time remote position with occasional travel anticipated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and write a variety of public affairs documents such as press releases and media interview responses.
- Analyze agency information program matters and offer recommendations for improving content from a strategic communications perspective.
- Establish and maintain contact with key officials and media representatives; respond to related engagement requests.
- Develop comprehensive communications plans with insights into strategy and tactical execution.
- Draft talking points, slides, and memos with scientific and technical content, ensuring alignment with target audiences and consistency with agency policies and goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college required;
Master’s degree desired. - Minimum of 5 years of media relations experience, preferably in health or science fields.
- Proven ability to provide senior-level communications counsel to Program Managers, agency leaders, and subject matter experts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
Clearance Requirements:
Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
Salary Range:
Negotiable.
