Overview

Salary: $88,621 – $115,213 per year (GG‑12).
Position type:
Permanent, full‑time, service only. Travel required; occasional travel may be expected. No telework eligible. Remote work not permitted.
Location:
Negotiable per agency. Various locations considered after selection. No appointment type relocation benefits are specified.
- Advises program manager, unit commander, and higher headquarters on policy related to unusual, sensitive, and complex deception issues impacting the unit’s operational mission.
- Assists in managing the overall security management program as it relates to operational security; develops and implements unit policies, standards, procedures, and training for effective management of all aspects of operations security.
- Conducts extensive research from non‑governmental/military resources to develop and implement organizational deception plans; prepares lesson plans, creates training slides, conducts classroom training, and leads field exercises in support of deception training; assists in training approximately 40 personnel per month.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- All new DCIPS employees must complete a two‑year DCIPS trial period.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to SCI.
- Authorized PCS pay as IAW JTR and AF regulations may apply.
- Position subject to DoD Priority Placement Program.
- Selective Service registration required.
- Current certifications must be maintained.
- Drug testing by urinalysis required prior to entry and may be conducted randomly as a condition of continued employment.
- Prepared to travel on short notice TDY to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license for operation of government, privately owned, and rental vehicles.
Position is a GG‑12; the career level is equivalent to GS‑12 in the General Schedule. Applicant experience must demonstrate knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful performance. Experience may include prior military service, private sector, or another government agency.
Experience
Required:
Expert knowledge of intelligence and counter‑intelligence in special operations activities; analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of current requirements; development of new operational concepts; historical and current understanding of international political affairs; detailed knowledge of the special operations intelligence community; evaluation of intelligence product value; mastery of operational security methodology; assessment of protection during operational planning; and communication skills.
