Government Relations or Management Consulting

🌐 Remote considered for strong candidates

💰 $40,000–$55,000 (depending on role, experience, and structure)

About the Role

We are a fast‑growing Canadian consulting firm with well‑established government relations and management consulting practices. We work primarily with private‑sector clients operating in government‑regulated, policy‑sensitive, or complex environments.

We are seeking high‑potential early‑career candidates who want meaningful responsibility, close mentorship, and exposure to real client work—without being lost in the hierarchy of a large firm.

Depending on your background and availability, this role may be structured as a:

  • final‑year internship or co‑op
  • first professional role for a recent graduate (0–3 years)

Strong performers in internship or co‑op roles are typically considered for permanent positions.

What You’ll Work On

You’ll support consulting engagements across one or both of the following areas:

Government Relations
  • Monitoring and analyzing municipal, provincial, and federal legislative and regulatory developments
  • Researching policy, political, and stakeholder environments
  • Preparing briefing notes, policy memos, client updates, and submissions
  • Supporting engagement strategies between clients and governments
Management Consulting
  • Conducting strategic, operational, and market analysis
  • Supporting organizational reviews and performance improvement initiatives
  • Preparing client‑ready reports, presentations, and analytical outputs
  • Working alongside senior consultants on active client mandates
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
  • Research and analyze complex issues
  • Build presentations and analytical deliverables
  • Support live client engagements and internal teams
  • Learn how consulting projects are scoped, delivered, and managed
  • Gain valuable experience working closely with a team of seasoned consultants

You will be a contributing member of the consulting team, not a passive observer.

Who This Role Is For

This role is well suited to candidates who are:

  • In their final year of undergraduate or graduate studies
  • New graduates seeking their first professional role
  • Recent graduates (0–3 years) looking to establish a consulting career
  • Interested in public policy, regulation, strategy, or advisory work
  • Comfortable working independently in a professional, client‑facing environment
  • Seeking to develop their skillset in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented workplace
What We’re Looking For

Strong candidates typically demonstrate:

  • A degree (completed or near completion) in communications, policy, political science, history, business, economics, law, or a related field involving research and writing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Sound judgment and discretion
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Google Workspace
  • French or other languages considered an asset

Prior consulting or government experience is not required.

What We Offer
  • Salary range of $40,000–$55,000
, depending on role structure and experience
  • Hands‑on experience in government relations and management consulting
  • Close mentorship in a small and collaborative firm
  • Early exposure to senior professionals and clients
  • Flexible work arrangements, with preferred locations in Fredericton, Saint John or Ottawa
  • Clear pathways for professional growth and advancement
