Political Affairs Internship

The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty.

This part‑time, 12‑hour per week, 12‑week unpaid remote internship focuses on making poverty a priority of U.S., Canadian, and U.K. foreign policy. Availability can be adjusted to complete the program in fewer weeks.

• Lead public and political outreach in your state and district.
• Meet with members of Congress and government officials in your state, district, or constituency.
• Represent The Borgen Project at business, political, and community events.
• Assist with fundraising and create a personal fundraising campaign to meet targets.
• Mobilize individuals to contact their members of government in support of key poverty‑reduction legislation.
• Speak to groups, classes, and organizations.
• Write letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media, and other groups.

No prior experience is necessary. We seek individuals who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPA or background.

Unpaid internship. College credit may be available. Start date is flexible; new programs begin every month and you can choose your preferred start month.
