Become a Senior Resource Technologist with the BC Public Service in Merritt, BC. Utilize your skills in forestry management and collaborate with partners in a hybrid work environment.
As part of the Cascades District team's Tenures and Authorizations, you will work with First Nations Relations Advisors and other stakeholders to navigate complex applications and drive economic support through permitting. This role is a unique blend of technical office work and rewarding field experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical expertise on forestry applications
• Facilitate informed decisions regarding natural resources
• Engage with a diverse team in collaborative projects
• Balance office tasks with outdoor fieldwork
• Prepare for unique environmental challenges in the field
Requirements:
• Advanced degree in natural resource management
• Experience with key natural resource management statutes
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence
• Ready to work in varied weather conditions
• Registered or eligible for RFT with Forest Professionals BC
