About the Role

We are recruiting two permanent Project Officer posts within the Innovation and Change Team in Parking Services. These roles will provide project delivery support across a varied and important service portfolio, helping to deliver service improvement, monitoring, transformation, governance, income protection and strategic delivery activity.

Parking Services covers a broad range of work, including parking operations, Workplace Parking Levy, Workplace Parking Charge, Corporate Vehicle Hire, Parking Regulation and Compliance, WPL Consultancy, service improvement and transformation activity. These roles will help provide the project capacity needed to support service continuity, effective governance, financial stewardship, risk management and delivery of agreed priorities.

As a Project Officer, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects across the wider Parking Services portfolio. You will help turn ideas and priorities into structured pieces of work, supporting colleagues to deliver change in a clear, organised and practical way.

You will support the development and delivery of service improvement and change projects; prepare project documents, briefs, action logs, reports and updates; help monitor project progress, risks, issues, actions and benefits; work with colleagues and stakeholders to gather information, solve problems and keep work moving; support meetings, workshops and project discussions; use data, evidence and feedback to support decision-making and improvement;

and help ensure projects are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality expectations.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience of supporting or delivering projects, service improvements or change activity.

Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing clear documents, updates or reports.

Ability to work with colleagues, stakeholders or partners to progress actions and resolve issues.

Ability to use information, data or evidence to support problem-solving and decision-making.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to inclusive and customer-focused service delivery.

Experience in local government, parking, transport, regulation, compliance, customer services, business improvement or project management methodology would be helpful, but is not essential.

You do not need to be a parking expert. We are looking for people who can bring structure, energy, curiosity and good communication to a busy service environment. You will need to be comfortable working across different areas, managing competing priorities and supporting colleagues through change.
