Location: Bowling

Marine Policy Officer Home-based, with easy commuter access to London to attend events and meetings. Occasional travel to external meetings and events in other major locations in the UK will be required. We unite communities, governments, and industry, and champion science-based solutions for cleaner, healthier seas to tackle the climate and nature emergency.

We are currently looking for a Marine Policy Officer to join us on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week, for a six month fixed-term contract. The Benefits

The Role As a Marine Policy Officer, you will contribute to policies that will help shape a future where the transition to clean energy protects and restores our seas. Working closely with the Policy and Advocacy Manager, you will develop evidence-led policy positions and advocacy plans that influence the future of UK marine planning and offshore renewable energy, ensuring marine nature is at the heart of decisions.

You will engage with parliamentary developments, represent us at key stakeholder groups, and collaborate with environmental organisations to drive meaningful, joined-up action for healthier seas. Additionally, you will:

- Produce clear, evidence-based policy briefings and advocacy materials
- Build strong relationships with government, industry and other influential stakeholders
- Speak to external audiences, including participating in occasional media interviews
- Work with internal teams to increase understanding of UK marine planning processes About You To be considered as a Marine Policy Officer, you will need:

- Experience of policy analysis
- Experience writing concise and compelling policy briefings or documents
- Experience working with government agencies in marine policy, preferably within NGOs, governments or statutory bodies
- Knowledge of UK marine policy and legislation
- Excellent research and analytical skills
