Job Description & How to Apply Below

This role is a limited term appointment for 12 months.

About the role

Can you provide the strategic leadership needed to help shape the Isle of Man's future prosperity? This is a rare opportunity to take on a high-profile leadership role at the heart of economic development, working across a diverse portfolio that has a direct impact on the Island's growth, competitiveness and long-term success. As Director of Policy and Strategy for the Department for Enterprise, you'll lead the development of economic strategy, oversee policy across multiple sectors and provide expert advice on issues that influence the Island's future.

The Department for Enterprise offers a uniquely varied and fast-paced environment, bringing together responsibility for economic growth, business development, tourism, employment, digital innovation and inward investment. Unlike many policy roles, this position provides the opportunity to see strategy translated into tangible outcomes, working closely with Ministers, senior leaders, industry partners and stakeholders to deliver meaningful change. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team and Deputy to the Chief Officer, you'll play a key role in shaping the Department's direction, leading high-performing teams and driving major cross-government initiatives.

We're looking for a credible and forward-thinking leader with strong experience in strategy, policy development and organisational leadership. This is an exceptional development opportunity for someone looking to broaden their leadership experience, influence decision-making at the highest level and make a lasting contribution to the Isle of Man's economic future, while working within a supportive and ambitious department that is committed to innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Enjoy a flexible hybrid schedule with a blend of remote work and in-office collaboration throughout the week.
