Are you a current or former Detective Constable looking for a new challenge or considering a return to policing? British Transport Police (BTP) are recruiting experienced, proactive and community-focused investigators to join our Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as a Detective Constable based in Stevenage. This opportunity is open to PIP2-qualified Detective Constables who are passionate about delivering high-quality investigations, safeguarding vulnerable people and bringing offenders to justice.

At BTP, our detectives investigate a diverse range of crimes across the railway network, including serious violence, sexual offences, robbery, safeguarding investigations, county lines activity, organised crime and fatalities. No two investigations are the same. As a Detective Constable, you will be trusted to manage complex investigations, work alongside specialist departments and partner agencies, and provide support to victims during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

• Applicants must be a current or former officer from a Home Office Police Force, Police Scotland, PSNI or British Transport Police
• Must be able to be operational.
• Applicants must be substantive in the rank of Detective Constable
• Applicants must hold a current PIP2 Investigator Accreditation
• Transferees must have completed their probationary period
• Re-joiners must apply within 5 years of leaving policing and have previously been substantive in rank
• Must have lived in the UK for the past 3 consecutive years
• No live misconduct warnings or performance issues
• Cannot be under current investigation by another force
• No active CCJs, unmanaged IVAs, or bankruptcy
• We do not accept applications from those dismissed from another force
• We do not accept applications if you have been declined vetting at another Force within 2 years
• Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.**

Stevenage provides a unique policing environment with direct links into London and key routes across the East of England. As part of BTP's specialist investigative teams, you will play a vital role in tackling crime across a busy and dynamic transport network while working closely with local policing partners and safeguarding agencies.
