Summary: As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a clinical service to patients. This includes tasks such as taking patient drug histories, rationalizing prescribing, advising on and compiling treatment protocols, therapeutic drug monitoring, and ensuring compliance in the relevant CMG rotation. Your responsibilities extend to providing optimal pharmaceutical care on specified ward(s)/clinics and delivering clinical input aligned with your grade.
Active participation in managing the directorate drugs budget through expenditure analysis and drug use audits is expected. Education and training for healthcare staff, late duty, weekend, and bank holiday coverage are integral to this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering clinical services to patients.
- Taking patient drug histories and rationalizing prescribing.
- Advising on and compiling treatment protocols.
- Participating in therapeutic drug monitoring.
- Ensuring compliance in the relevant CMG rotation.
- Contributing to the management of the directorate drugs budget.
- Providing education and training to healthcare staff.
- Participating in late duty, weekend, and bank holiday cover.
- Conducting regular drug use audits for optimal usage.
