Position

Description

The BCBA Assessment Specialist has the primary duty of performing both Intake Assessments and Ongoing Assessments with our New Jersey based clients. The Assessment Specialist must be willing to travel between our 5 New Jersey centers (Berkeley Heights, Princeton, West Orange, Ramsey, Eatontown - mileage reimbursed) to complete assessments as scheduled. The BCBA in this role will not carry a caseload and will not be charged with training Behavior Technicians or others, and will be expected to perform up to 2 assessments daily.

The assessments will be shared with the primary BCBA assigned to the client as well as the Payer and used to adjust treatment plans to ensure client progress.

Qualified candidates will enjoy working with children, demonstrate excellent communication skills, be well organized, flexible, patient, and dependable. The Assessment Specialist will need to have experience with assessments such as Vineland 3, VB-MAPP, PEAK, Quick Language Assessment, Essential for Living, or Early Start Denver Model. They will be highly motivated, naturally take initiative, be willing to learn, remain curious, and look to make a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments
  • Assist with Interim Care as needed for potential clients
  • Update progress reports for assigned clients
  • Required to meet both hourly and monthly authorization fulfillment equaling an average of 25 billable hours per week
  • Ensures client programming is ethical, appropriately individualized, and provided with integrity by making consistent programming decisions for assigned clients and conducting overlaps with clients and behavior technicians
  • Keep up to date on current research and best practices
  • Model and fill in for therapy as needed
