* Completion of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program through an accredited organization or on the job training in ultrasound that led to registry. Required Experience Qualifications
* Customer service experience. Preferred
* Experience in Ultrasound Preferred
* Experience in a hospital or clinical setting. Preferred

* Experience utilizing imaging equipment

Licenses and Certifications
* Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - ARDMS ARRT-Sonography or CCI-Sonography are also accepted dependent upon department. Required
* Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.

What you will do
* Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations using sonographic skills to identify, document, and adapt examinations as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic criteria.
* Uses independent judgment during the ultrasound exam to accurately obtain diagnostic images necessary to differentiate between normal and pathologic findings and communicates findings to the interpreting radiologist.
* Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients. Introduces self to patient, properly identifies patient utilizing two identifiers, and explains the ultrasound examination being performed.
* Selects proper imaging transducer and equipment and operates effectively, efficiently, and safely. Selects and adds correct associated examination charges as needed. Coordinates examinations by priority while efficiently performing exams in a sequence which minimizes the patient’s stay in the hospital.
* Demonstrates knowledge of proper low-level and high-level disinfections process and performs necessary cleaning and disinfection process of all equipment as required by hospital protocol.
* Responsible for completion of mandatory educational assignments and competencies as assigned by manager.
* Participates in training of colleagues and sonography students as directed.
* Rotating call is a requirement of the position.

Travel Requirements
* 20% Travel to satellite locations as necessary.
