** Job Summary
** Under the general direction of the Manager, Lab Services and within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, assist lab personnel with various functions such as cleaning and storing equipment, decontaminate and dispose of waste materials, decontaminate glassware and media and may perform other non-technical laboratory support functions. This position is part of the 1199

SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
** Qualifications
* * High school degree or equivalent.

- certification as a Lab Assistant strongly preferred.

- experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
** Additional Job Details (if applicable)
** Additional duties include specimen processing and planting of all Microbiology specimens received in the lab. Assist with inventory management and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment. Clerical duties including answering phones and basic data entry and computer operations in a busy laboratory setting.
