Regulatory Compliance Manager - Hybrid/Remote Job Summary
Ensures patient billing practices conform to government reimbursement guidelines by monitoring current practices, managing and documenting audit processes, developing and implementing systems to track compliance activities, and providing compliance education.
Responsibilities- Supports Compliance Administrator in policy review and creation.
- Monitors and assists in drafting required documentation related to compliance processes.
- Identifies trends, issues, and risk areas while providing improvement recommendations.
- Participates in creation, monitoring, and updates of educational and training programs to enhance compliance awareness.
- Maintains current knowledge of federal and state guidance, organizational needs, and regulations; serves as an expert resource in issue resolution.
- Collaborates with faculty and staff to assist departments in implementing compliance practices and monitors compliance activities.
- Conducts audits and investigations to ensure compliance with University, state, and federal guidelines.
Assists the University in preparation for regulatory audits by developing, monitoring, and updating quality controls and recommending actions to maintain compliance. Acts as the primary contact and expert regarding regulatory agency standards governing healthcare program requirements. Representative challenges include determining the validity of collected data, assessing process shortfalls, and developing effective safeguards to reduce risk. Requires the ability to foster collaborative working relationships with a wide range of constituencies.

Nearly continuous sitting, hearing, listening, talking; often repetitive hand motion (typing) and walking; seldom bending or reaching overhead.
- Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent; one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
- Five years of regulatory or administrative law experience, with at least three years in a health care setting (or equivalent).
- Coding certification (CPC, ACS, CCS-P/H, RHIA).
- Knowledge of medical auditing, federal healthcare program policies and requirements (including Medicare Parts A and
B), and ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, DRG coding. - Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and related computer applications.
- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
- Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
- Knowledge of utilization review and quality assurance procedures preferred.
- Understanding of University operations, policies, and technology preferred.
- Training or teaching experience preferred.
Writing and competency test will be requested.
