Evergreen Healthcare Group is seeking a Authorization Specialist to join our team. This remote position is responsible for managing concurrent authorization requests, maintaining communication with payers and internal teams, and ensuring timely and accurate data entry for billing and patient services. This role works closely with the Admissions team, payor case managers, and facility staff to support smooth intake processes and ongoing case management.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of insurance processes are essential.

• Manage concurrent authorization requests and track their status.
• Input patient data into the electronic medical record system for billing.
• Collaborate with Admissions staff for insurance verification and case setup.
• Maintain ongoing communication with payor case managers, updating and documenting authorization statuses.
• Monitor reimbursement guidelines and pricing parameters to ensure compliance.
• Recognize and escalate potential problem referrals to the supervisor.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned.
• Support client concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Assist in training new and current staff on processes and procedures.
• Monitor and manage task lists (“to-dos”) in the EMR on a daily basis.
• Assist Intake Supervisor with special projects as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in healthcare authorizations, health information, or intake services preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of insurance reimbursement principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks.
• Able to work independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
