We are seeking a personable, motivated, and fully licensed Christian mental health therapist to join our thriving group practice. There is a pressing need from our extensive referral base for Christian-based mental health therapy. While some current staff can accommodate this need, we cannot meet the community's demand alone. We are looking for a Licensed Clinician who can incorporate a Christian worldview into mental health treatment.
The ideal candidate blends Christian principles with evidence-based practices.
If this does not apply to you or if you prefer not to integrate faith into treatment, please see our other job posting for a Licensed Therapist/Counselor. Anchored Soul Counseling is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to join our team.
Please note that this position involves working with clients who may not seek Christian Counseling. Christian Counseling is offered at the patient's request only. Our practice welcomes clients from all walks of life, including marginalized and LGBTQ+ communities. Our primary focus is patient well-being and values; we do not use our platform to evangelize or promote personal beliefs.
Our location is in North Haven, conveniently off exit 10 on I-91. We offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions. The practice serves diverse patients across various backgrounds and age groups. The position is W2 employment, providing a private office, company email, and phone. The employee is not responsible for billing, referrals, insurance credentialing, or treatment materials. This is a part-time role with potential to become full-time.
We especially encourage applicants with expertise in Men's Issues, Women's Issues, Trauma (EMDR, IFS, SI, etc.), Play Therapy, or those willing to provide couples or children’s therapy (15 and under). Candidates should possess the following:
- Fully licensed or license-eligible (LCSW, LMFT, LPC) in Connecticut. Partially and provisionally licensed candidates will not be considered.
- A compassionate nature and self-awareness to understand how personal emotions and thoughts impact patient care.
- Experience or training in Christian or pastoral counseling is encouraged but not required; training and supervision are available.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Christianity and Christian culture.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of patients and the practice.
- Commitment to ongoing skill development to serve diverse patient needs.
- Maintain a caseload of at least 21 patients (full-time) or 10 patients (part-time).
- Strong organizational skills for case note documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and under supervision.
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and emotional.
- Flexible work-from-home options are available.
