Job SummaryThis position effectively and efficiently works at a senior level and drives the federal and state implementation of H.R.1 – the One Big Beautiful Bill Act - and subsequent major federal and state directives including federal legislation for AHCCCS, which is the state agency for Medicaid in Arizona. This position is involved in most areas of the agency’s work, including budgeting, staff resourcing needs, significant IT system changes, implementation and operations of federal regulation and CMS Waiver programs, industry and efficiency advances for improved agency performance, data insights and analysis, policy and legal compliance, communications, stakeholder engagement and more.
This position needs to be nimble as federal and state directives emerge and able to successfully work with vendor partners, develop response plans and the agency and ensure timely implementation within available resources. The Regulatory Affairs Performance Administrator reports directly to the Deputy Director of Community Engagement & Regulatory Affairs and maintains a close working relationship with the agency's leadership team.
Majorduties and responsibilities
- Create and oversee the comprehensive agency plan to respond to H.R.1 and other emerging major federal directives including legislation impacting Medicaid, leads the portfolio of projects to implement H.R.1 federally required components of the Act.
- Oversee the successful execution of projects to ensure compliance and operational readiness with federal and state directives. Vendor relationship management; lead and coordinate the project management and completion of cross-functional, department-wide federal and state projects.
- Communicate and coordinate with other state agencies and partners to drive federal response coordination, implementation, efficiencies, communications, and interfaces.
- Collaborate with a team-based approach, planning, executing, meeting facilitation, management, and leadership to propel a solid, healthy, positive team environment across the agency and its leadership teams and the successful implementation and monitoring of the federal response plan.
- Provide strategic recommendations and analysis to the agency’s director and the Senior Leadership Team. Influence, advise, drive and be accountable for the successful planning and implementation of the agency’s response to H.R.1 and other federal and state emerging directives impacting AHCCCS and Arizona’s public health system.
