Outpatient substance abuse treatment facility is seeking highly motivated Counselors/therapists to facilitate in-person and virtual individual and group counseling sessions for FFS and salaried positions. The program allows for flexibility in the assignment of days/hours but requires a minimum of 15 hours of client contact per week with paid supervision/conference.
Weekly supervision and ongoing OASAS-approved in-service training are provided. Supervision is compensated but management requires that candidates facilitate two groups per week.
Responsibilities- Provide substance abuse treatment for clients in the program, including group, individual, and family counseling and crisis intervention.
- Facilitate groups for adult outpatient clients enrolled in the program and provide individual counseling services for clients on his/her caseload.
- Complete and maintain documentation including treatment plans & reviews, psycho-social assessments, progress and session notes, discharge plans, and reports.
- Ensure that clients’ medical examinations and psychiatric evaluations are completed.
- Attend regularly scheduled case conferences, weekly communications, and supervisory and special agency staff meetings.
- Maintain credentialing and attend training.
- Provide clients with referrals and assist with obtaining appropriate services and resources.
- Coordinate services with referral sources such as the Criminal Justice System, consulting psychiatrists and medical care providers.
- Participate in intake, outreach, and screening of clients, and provide counseling and referral services to clients’ families.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; uphold all agency policies and Code of Conduct.
CASAC, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC; and MSW (if not licensed, to obtain license within 6 months of employment). Experience working with a substance use disorder and/or LGBTQ+ population and/or MICA is preferred.
